Big Squaw Mountain Resort is located in the beautiful Moosehead Lake Region, home to Moosehead Lake, which is forty miles long and 20 miles across at its widest point. Big Squaw is truly located on the edge of the Great North Woods' wilderness.

Big Squaw Mountain Resort has one of the most spectacular views in the world. Sights include Mount Kineo with sheer 800 foot cliffs that plunge into Moosehead Lake , Spencer Mountains, and of course Mount Katahdin which is Maine's highest point and the end of the Appalachian Trail. The view can not be described by words alone, but the words that came to the mind of world traveler Andrew Shasha were simply "prehistoric and untouched".

Big Squaw Mountain Resort boasts spectacular old-fashioned New England skiing with thirty-three trails designed by world famous ski trail designer Sel Hanna to entice beginners and experts alike. Sel said about Squaw Mountain - "Of all the trails I have designed the Penobscot Trail at Big Squaw Mountain is by far the most scenic". Don't forget to try out our new glades, one of the largest glades in the east. Our Glade trails (tree skiing) were personally hand crafted by expert boarder Rich Mailey. Big Squaw's backcountry is perfect for those who ike to telemark ski or snowshoe.

Big Squaw Mountain Resort has snowmaking capabilities on seventy percent of it's terrain. Professional grooming provides unbelievably smooth, powdery surfaces for your skiing / boarding pleasure.
